Embracing Feminine Power: My Conversation with Dr. Foojan Zeine

Recently, I had the pleasure of joining Dr. Foojan Zeine on her Inner Voice podcast for a deep and insightful conversation about the interplay of feminine and masculine energies. We explored how these forces shape our lives, our relationships, and even our definition of success.

For centuries, society has emphasized masculine traits—linear achievement, competition, and dominance—as the blueprint for success. But what if we redefined success through a more balanced, feminine-centered perspective? In my conversation with Dr. Foojan, we unpacked how honoring emotional depth, intuition, creativity, and community can lead to a more fulfilling and sustainable way of being.
The Feminine and Masculine Within Us All
One of the biggest misconceptions is that these energies are gendered—exclusive to men or women. In reality, we all embody aspects of both. Dr. Foojan shared his personal experience of neglecting his feminine side and the toll it took on his well-being. Like many, he had internalized the belief that softness, intuition, and emotional expression were secondary to action and logic.
Yet, these feminine traits are essential for wholeness. When we suppress them—whether as individuals or as a culture—we create imbalance. Women, in particular, often feel pressured to conform to masculine ideals of success, striving for external validation through relentless achievement. But at what cost?
Redefining Success Through Feminine Strength
Instead of forcing ourselves into a rigid, masculine framework, we can embrace a different path—one that values emotional intelligence, collaboration, and inner fulfillment. I used Greek mythology to illustrate this concept, contrasting Artemis, the strategic and diplomatic goddess, with Ares, the forceful god of war. Both have power, but their approaches are vastly different.
Success doesn’t have to look like relentless hustle and burnout. Instead, it can be about cultivating a life that aligns with our deeper values—one rooted in intuition, connection, and reciprocity.
The Cost of Constant Giving
Women are often expected to give endlessly—emotionally, mentally, and physically. Whether in relationships, work, or family dynamics, this constant outpouring can lead to exhaustion and depletion. During our conversation, we challenged this narrative, encouraging women to rewrite these expectations.
True fulfillment isn’t found in sacrificing ourselves for others—it’s found in balanced relationships where giving and receiving exist in harmony. Women deserve reciprocity, support, and spaces where their needs are equally valued.
Healthy Masculinity and Balanced Relationships
Another powerful topic we explored was the concept of healthy masculinity. So often, masculinity is associated with control, dominance, and suppression of emotions. But true masculine energy, at its core, is about support, structure, and protection—not oppression.
For relationships to thrive, there must be balance. Women need safety, security, and trust to fully express their feminine nature. And men, too, benefit from embracing their emotional depth, intuition, and nurturing qualities. When both partners honor and integrate these energies, they create a dynamic rooted in harmony rather than conflict.
Trusting Intuition as a Guide
Perhaps the most important takeaway from our discussion was the power of intuition. In a world that often prioritizes logic over feeling, women are encouraged to ignore their inner knowing. But intuition is one of the most powerful feminine strengths we have—it guides us toward what is right, warns us of danger, and leads us toward deeper fulfillment.
By learning to trust ourselves, honoring our emotions, and redefining success on our own terms, we step into our fullest, most satisfied selves.
