Reclaiming Feminine Power in a World Built For Men With Elizabeth Cush

Awaken Your Wise Woman Podcast with Alanna Kaivalya

We’ve all heard the phrase, “It’s a man’s world.” And in many ways, it’s true—our culture has been shaped by traditional masculine values, rewarding competition, individualism, and dominance. But where does that leave women who long for a different way of being? A way that honors collaboration, intuition, and inclusivity?

I recently had the pleasure of joining Elizabeth Cush on her Awaken Your Wise Woman podcast to explore this very question. We talked about the ways in which women have been forced to wear a masculine mask just to get by, the importance of reclaiming feminine energy, and how we can redefine success on our terms.

The Patriarchal Myths We’ve Been Told

Many of us were raised to believe that success looks a certain way—climbing the corporate ladder, achieving status, and constantly striving to be the best. But this version of success is rooted in masculine ideals that don’t always align with how women naturally thrive.

Women are biologically and socially wired for connection, yet we’re told that competition—not collaboration—is the key to making it. We’re intuitive beings, yet intuition is often dismissed as unreliable in a world that prioritizes logic. And perhaps most frustratingly, we’re taught that feminine qualities—like emotional intelligence, softness, and nurturance—are weaknesses rather than strengths.

But these myths don’t just harm women. They don’t serve men well either. When masculinity is defined by dominance and emotional suppression, men, too, suffer under the weight of unrealistic expectations.

What Feminine Success Looks Like

So, what happens when we stop trying to force ourselves into a mold that wasn’t made for us? We create a new definition of success—one that prioritizes fulfillment over exhaustion, connection over competition, and intuition over external validation.

Feminine success is about satisfaction—a concept I explore deeply in my book, The Way of the Satisfied Woman. It’s about reclaiming our power, trusting ourselves, and making choices that align with our values, rather than the ones handed down to us by a patriarchal system.

When women embrace this kind of success, everyone benefits. Communities become stronger. Businesses thrive with inclusive leadership. Families become healthier. And we, as individuals, feel more at home in our own lives.

The Power of Listening to Our Intuition

One of the key takeaways from my conversation with Biz Cush was the importance of listening to our inner wisdom. If something doesn’t feel right—whether it’s a career path, a relationship, or a societal norm—it’s okay to question it.

Yet so many of us have been taught to second-guess ourselves. We’ve been conditioned to believe that intuition isn’t enough, that we need external validation before making decisions. But the truth is, our intuition is one of our greatest strengths.

Reconnecting with our feminine roots—learning from the struggles and wisdom of the women who came before us—can help us tune back in to this inner knowing. And when we do? We begin to live in alignment with who we truly are, rather than who the world expects us to be.

Giving Ourselves Permission to Disrupt

If there’s one message I want every woman to take away from this conversation, it’s this: You do not have to play by the rules of a system that wasn’t designed for you. You have permission to disrupt. To carve your own path. To step fully into your feminine power.

If this conversation resonates with you, I invite you to download a free chapter of my book, The Way of the Satisfied Woman. It’s called “Permission to Disrupt,” and it will help you break free from the limitations placed upon you and embrace a life that feels truly satisfying.

You can grab your free chapter here.

Let’s stop forcing ourselves to fit into a masculine mold. Instead, let’s reclaim the wisdom, power, and satisfaction that come from fully embodying our feminine nature.
